Gus Design Group has started manufacturing all of its upholstery with FSC-certified wood sourced from responsibly managed forests.
“Gus has chosen to take a leadership role in the modern furniture industry”, said Amanda Schuler, vice president of sales and marketing. “We’ve been working with our factories and suppliers to create modern furniture options that support responsible forestry and sustainable practices.”
The Forest Stewardship Council is a certification system that provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services to companies interested in responsible forestry. The FSC label provides a credible link between responsible production and consumption of forest products, enabling consumers to make purchasing decisions that benefit the environment.
Gus showed a number of its FSC-certified designs at the recent High Point Market, including the GT Rocker, a modern rocking chair with sleek, black metal base and architecturally-styled cushions inspired by 1970s car interiors.
